ORGANIZATIONAL CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Course Objectives:
The course is designed to provide understanding of organizational conflict resolution; management of organizational conflict involves the diagnosis of and intervention in conflict skills and involves participation in five day (40 hours) training workshops. Participants completing the course will be able to demonstrate an understanding of primary conflict theories, analyze organizational conflict situations to develop interventions and develop effective conflict management techniques. Participants learn theories of interpersonal and organizational conflict and its resolution as applied to personal, corporate, and political contexts. The training course will use lectures, case studies, large and small group dialogue, and individual projects; this course prepares participants to identify effectively and manage organizational conflict and to implement corrective procedures.
Main topics
A variety of topics are discussed including, but not limited to, some rational elements in approaching conflict resolution, psychological sub-processes, social contexts, individual differences, multiparty situations, and dealing with impasses. The course brings out the significance of leadership in approaching and managing a negotiation situation and organizational conflict resolution.
Application and costs
Participants will be chosen from a wide variety of backgrounds in government, civil society organization, associations and private sector circles in order to facilitate dialogue and better understanding across sectors and social divides.
The fee for the course is USD 150, inclusive of tuition, stationary, and coffee breaks (to be paid in full before the course starts). The number of participants is limited to 25, and we encourage you to apply or register for the course and further information.
