MA, Executive Director Women PeaceMakers Cambodia (WPM)
Ms. Kry is the executive director of Women PeaceMakers Cambodia (WPM) in charge of overseeing the overall management, operation, strategic development and leadership of the organization. Born and raised in Phnom Penh, Ms. Kry has devoted her life and work on topics related to conflict transformation, mediation, peacebuilding, transitional justice, mass atrocity prevention and reconciliation. Between 2008 and 2012, Ms. Kry worked as an outreach staff of the Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam), an independent research institution dedicated to promoting memory, justice, and healing in Cambodia. In 2014, Ms. Kry held a research role focusing on the Myanmar peace process and communal violence at the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, an NGO working in the field of peace-building and conflict transformation to strengthen strategic intervention in the Asia region. In 2015, Ms. Kry served as the deputy director of the Anlong Veng Peace Center initiative housed at DC-Cam to transform the once former battle field and Khmer Rouge stronghold of Anlong Veng to an educational and historical learning site for memory, healing and reconciliation. Ms. Kry received a Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA, and a Bachelor of Education from the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
